Join us for a morning of wellness and healing with practitioners from MINKA Brooklyn, a sanctuary in Brooklyn dedicated to supporting the intersections of wellness and social justice.  The day will commence with an elderberry kit-making class. Elderberry syrup is a classic herbal home remedy that has been used to support the immune system. It is full of beneficial organic compounds that function as anti-inflammatory and antioxidant agents, making it a wonderful cold and flu remedy. And it tastes delicious! In this mini workshop, we will learn about the many benefits and ways this remedy can be prepared, and participants will have the opportunity to create their own customized take-home elderberry syrup kits.

Afterwards, participants have the option to experience individual reiki treatments. Reiki, which means universal life force energy, has been known to relieve stress and bring a sense of ease and peace. Each participant will also leave with an elderberry kit as a gift bag. Please arrive hydrated and in comfortable clothing you can move in!

Carmen is a Spiritual Wellness Coach who uses a combination of wellness coaching techniques, astrology, tarot, and Reiki energy healing to support clients through the stages of personal discovery, personal growth, and healing. In addition to private sessions, Carmen hosts monthly lunar circles for women and shares practical insights via her website on how to incorporate astrology, lunar cycles, tarot, and other spiritual practices into our daily lives.

Carmen began her practice 4 years ago, and has consistently evolved with the guidance of teachers, mentors, and like-minded peers. She studied astrology under well respected astrologers Samuel L. Reynolds and Rebecca Gordon and is a Level II Reiki practitioner (Shamanic and Usui Shiki Ryoho).

Jordan is an intuitive healer and medicine maker living in Brooklyn, NY.  I lead monthly Full Moon Breathwork circles and plant medicine classes at MINKA. I am a multi-talented healer who also uses 13th Octave LaHoChi, Reiki, and Tarot as tools for soul transformation.

I find a way to incorporate flower healing into every one of my sessions, using fresh flowers and my own handcrafted flower essences. I recently added a Rose Ritual flower bath offering, a practice taught to me by a Peruvian shaman from the Amazon.

In my Apothecary, I draw upon my ancestral and curandera roots to create plant and stone medicine that treat both the physical and emotional/vibrational bodies. You can find my herbal elixirs and flower essences in the MINKA shop!

10 years ago, I was suffering from PTSD and chronic pain. I had tried everything I knew to "fix" myself, seeing countless doctors and therapists, but nothing truly helped. I just about gave up... Finally, circumstances aligned and I agreed to see a different kind of therapist. One who could talk to Angels and worked on the energetic levels. And with that, everything changed! After a few years, I became empowered enough to help others, and listen to my soul speaking. I became attuned to Reiki. I found Breathwork. I rediscovered the Plants and the Natural world.

This is where I come from. Whatever you're going through (PTSD, heartbreak, depression, anger, confusion, blocked creativity) – I've been there.

And I am here to help you. Let's discover how easy and freeing healing can truly be. Breathwork, Reiki, and working with the Angels have changed my life. And they will change yours.

Jordan has studied with renowned healers Ari Roberts, Pamela Miles, Padma Gonzalez, and David Elliot. She also holds an MFA in Art History from Kingston University London and spent many years working in the nonprofit sector. It has been her greatest honor and joy to carry on these healing traditions.
