Your archive is your legacy and developing good practices for keeping it organized, accessible, and up to date ensures that your work can be studied, exhibited, and researched. This workshop will focus on physical and digital storage, CV components, basics of building an inventory system, and an overview of contracts.

 Key learning outcomes:

  • Learn how and what to document about your work 
  • Learn how to create an inventory system that can grow with your practice 
  • Make a plan with 1-2 achievable goals for getting started 

About the Instructor:

Megan N. Liberty is an arts writer, editor, and archivist with over six years of experience working with artists to organize and professionalize their archives. After working in an established artist’s studio for years, she decided to share what she learned with artists’ earlier in their careers, giving them the tools to build a complex and rich archive. Trained as an art historian, Megan knows how important complete archives will be to future researchers, as well as the daily ease they offer in running a studio and maintain a professional artistic practice.
